Lately I have been going through it mentally and physically.  It seems like I went from 0 to 100 real quick.  Throughout all these changes and phases the one person that tends to be neglected in this process is me.  With all this growth going on I forget to tend to my spirit in order to stay balanced.  The funny thing is I don't even meditate alone.  Really...  I try to meditate in the bed and lately thats even been full.  Although my life is chaotic and I am working to find my footing.  I am learning that in order to be at peace I have to ground myself.  To stay grounded one must stay rooted, to stay rooted you must plant your seed in the earth, in order to plant those seeds you must center yourself in solitude.  Once in solitude you plant your seeds.  Once the seeds are planted your must remain rooted in order to see them come into be and then you will become at peace.

Finding the "YOU"

In this journey of life we have to find our reason for being.  I have been on a mission to figure out my purpose on this journey.  I feel I have read every self-help or purpose driven book on the planet and I still feel that I am at ground zero from time to time.  In life I know my calling is to help others find their true purpose and to LIVE A LIFE FULL OF LOVE, JOY WITH PASSION AND VIGOR.  I feel now where I fall short is finding the "YOU (I)" in this picture.

In order to really be of service you have to understand how to help yourself.  You are then tasked with  using your story to help others.  YOU have to be your own motivation.  YOU have to be the driving force behind your success.  YOU have to love YOUrself enough to make YOU a priority.  Think about the safety presentation given to you on the airplane.  In order to save YOUr seat partner or anyone else on the plane you must put YOUr mask on first.

Speak up!  Lately I've been working to be a better listener.  Learning to allow others to tell me their stories before I try to help them work through their issues.  But I am at my fill level.  I am definitely not an expert at life but I know the more you keep in all the thoughts floating in your mind the more damage you will do to yourself internally.  Now when I say be of service I mean speak up in instance where some one is hurting themselves or allowing someone to hurt them.  We all have shortcomings but we also all have things we are experts at.  Think about it this way.  If your friends and/or family member is coming to you with a dilemma this means they value your opinion.  Now don't take this opportunity to become their parents but exert your opinion in a productive and helpful manner.  Do it with and out of love for that person.

Get organized!

I have never been the type to write down to do list let alone goals.  We just purchased a new house and I have been more than overwhelmed with things to do.  My life didn't come to a screeching holt with my move, I still have living to do in the interim.  Meaning I still have work, practice, events to plan, and lets not forget planning my daughters sweet 16 dinner.  Through this process I really overlooked my birthday due to my overwhelming tasks and to do's.  I was speaking to my husband and one of my good friends, they both sternly advised me that I have to start writing things down.  I try to take mental notes of all my pending tasks and then I get frustrated trying to tackle them due the sheer volume of what I have to do.  So I was told for my new house to go through each room with a note pad and write down everything that is needed.  Once that task is completed to tape it to the wall. I took this task one step further in my children's rooms, I divided it in half and on the other side I put what was needed for this coming school year.  I know its late in the year but I am going to get a day planner to help me write down my meals and what I need to do on a daily basis.  Like the old saying goes if you fail to plan you plan to fail.

Practice mindful eating!

Most of the time when we start on a new journey of self discovery the one aspect of change that we neglect seems to always be healthy eating.  Lately I have been obsessed with different challenges that involve changing my diet in some shape or form.  I go from no meat to not drinking tea which is my achilles heal.  I am addicted to sweet tea.  I guess it's the southern belle in me.  On our journey of self discovery we have to not only be mindful of what we put in our bodies externally like watching the news, social media, and gossip.  We also have to be careful what we digest internally.  So practice mindful eating.

Be Quiet!

We all know the old saying if you ain't got nothing nice to say don't say anything at all.  Being Quiet doesn't just have to be practiced only in these moments.  Sometime we need to just BE QUIET in order to be present to whats going on around us.  I am one who is always going or focusing on my next step.  In my mind I rarely know where I am or what I am supposed to be doing in any given moment.  I truly am a work in progress (not process).  I am working on just taking the time to BE QUIET and really assess my situation for what it is and hope to learn something about me in the process.

Recognizing what really matters!

Family, Friends, Love, Joy, Moments.  These are the some of the things that really matter.  Life is about creating memorize and living in the moment.  So often I find myself complaining about the duties that I have tasked myself with or the thoughts that I have put into the universe that have come back to me and seeming bite me in the ass.  When I take a moment to put things into perspective I ask myself what would I done to fill that space in time if not this.  I have come to reflect on whats important to me and why these moments/task/duties/obligations were put here in the first place.  I was either doing something that needed to be done for my Family, Friends, out of Love, to experience Joy, or to create a moment.  Ultimately that task had a purpose and place that was beyond me.  I do have to be thankful but wise enough to still say NO when I am overwhelmed.

Learning to say NO!!

Lately I really have been superwoman or so I think to be.  I have a new home but do to all my obligations I have yet to come to enjoy it.  I don't get off until late afternoon and by the time I get the children to practice and cook dinner its 9 pm when I finally get to sit down.  By sitting down I mean going to bed.  A wise person told me today that I have to learn to say NO! Saying NO to others means saying YES to me.

Recognizing that nothin happens by chance!

I have been doing a lot of soul searching.  Just trying to make sense of situations and circumstances that I have come to place myself in.  New job, new house, etc the list goes on.  I has been hard for me to fully embrace where I am and the pitfalls that come with it due to my lack of knowledge as to why they are happening.  The why I mean understanding if these are lessons or blessings.  I know that each of these new situations in my life are connected to thoughts that I have placed in the universe reflecting themselves back at me.  I am working not to overwhelm myself with the why or the reason behind the reason but embrace that nothing happens by chance.  I have created my situation and its the best situation for me at this moment.

Do things for yourself!

One of 2 chains songs starts off with the line "they ask me what I do and who I do it for....." Live and do thing for you.  Do the things that make you happy and do it to enhance your own well being.  Doing these things for yourself will not only give you the energy to keep moving forward.  It will also have the same affect on others.  People are not only motivated by what you say they also learn best by what you do.  I am learning and growing as an individual daily.  This process is helping me to be a better mom, friend, sister, wife and daughter by default.  You have to keep striving even if the accolades aren't forthcoming.  Keep getting better and better at loving yourself. And doing things for your betterment.
