Remember time is precious
I was leaving work one day and one of my co-workers was telling me how she had to rush to pick up her 4 year old son from daycare. I proceeded to tell her how my oldest will be 16 next month. Saying that hit me hard. It seems like just yesterday she was an infant and now she's turning 16. I started to reflect on how many moments that I had taken for granted or not seized. I do work as a parent to make our time memorable although my commitments some times pull me away. Soon they all will be grown and creating memories of their own with there respective families. So take the time to enjoy these moments they tend to fly by so quickly.

Be Selfish and Unapologetic in how you value yourself!
We all understand how important, precious, and invaluable our time is To add to my post yesterday due to all these factors you must learn to be selfish and unapologetic about how you spend this precious commodity. There will come a time when you do have the time to just sit on the couch and do nothing. In that time you will have people to come along and try to fill the space of your nothingness with something they "need" you to help them with. It is in this time that you should prop your feet up and say with conviction "NO I AM BUSY". When I say be unapologetic I mean when they say " doing what"? Your rebuttal should be short sweet and again with conviction. Matter of fact you don't even have to give them a response. I want you to simply give them the look that your momma use to give you when she didn't want to be bothered. You know that look that says "Not a got darn thing" and if you disturb my peace again you are going to feel the wrath of God.

Talk to yourself!
I come to understand that I am the best knower of self. With that said who is the best person to talk to when I am tasked with a difficult decision to make. You guessed it ME!! I am not saying to never seek an expert "opinion" or guidance from family or friends. I am just saying don't discredit your own advice. I have come to realize that my morning and afternoon commutes are mini therapy sessions with myself. I know the people who pull up beside me at lights may think I am crazy but what they don't know is I am either "Thinking of a Master Plan" or preventing myself from killing someone.

Slow da heck down!!!
This means you over achiever. Its not in my DNA or even astrologically programed in me to slow down. I mean if I sit on my couch I am up within minutes to clean a dish (you read it correctly "a" dish) or vacuum. Whatever the tiny task is I have to do it and I have to do it when I have a "free" moment. I am constantly looking to fill the gap in space and time. I am learning to add 10 minutes of sit down time to my day. I hope to gradually get an hour in by the end of the week.

In my mind I often wait to plan for the perfect moment to do things that make me happy or enhance my life. For instance on a small scale I wanted to plan a spa day for myself but wanted to wait until I moved into my new home until I planned it. Why wait for the perfect conditions to arise before you cease the moment? Whose to say that, that particular moment will ever arise. You don't want to miss out on an opportunity due to you waiting for the perfect time. As the saying goes the only moment that matters is this present moment.

Write down all the things that excite you. Write down experiences that you look forward to having. Write down goals. Get these things on paper. Know when to retreat
I am the type of person that draws people to me. People have the tendency to talk to me about any and everything. I enjoy the giving and receiving of advice. I like getting a different perspective on a current situation. But there comes a time when I feel I am giving more than I am receiving. At that point I become drained. In order to replenish myself I have learned to distance myself from people and situations. Sometimes you have to retreat so you can be your best self.

Your thoughts create your actions. As a you think so you shall be. When you understand the power of your own thoughts you will understand the power to your actions. During the current we are in as a community and collectively as a people we have to understand what we put out in this universe. Thoughts of hate can only manifest itself into hateful actions. How we channel our anger and frustration requires a sound mind which will produce collective and effective actions/reactions. We have to be strategic and purposeful.

Be slow to anger. I was on the phone today with a certain cable/wireless company, I was asked to provide my account number unfortunately we have are paperless so I didn't have it available. I was then told that they can only hold for 2 minutes and that I only had about 30 seconds remaining. It took everything in me not to go all the way in. I did get nice nasty but I tried to remain in control. Sometime we have to recognized that we all are doing our job, she was told to say that so I have to respect that and not take my anger out on the person. My anger although not directed at her does have the ability to affect her personally.
